We are excited to announce the reopening of the certificate program for SPAQI members designed to provide core knowledge essentials for those new to preoperative evaluation and management and/or those looking to update their knowledge base.  This asynchronous program includes ~twenty educational sessions from fifteen experts who provide up to date information regarding best practice in preoperative optimization and perioperative management. Upon completion of the video series, there is an examination to assess knowledge and provide continuing education for those with a passing score on a post-session test. A certificate of completion will be presented to everyone who completes the course and passes the final exam.  This is a way to demonstrate competency and expertise in this unique subspecialty!

HOW: This will be offered as an asynchronous, 100% virtual learning opportunity that can be accessed on the individuals timeline. The clinician will have access to the video content for three months with a total of 6 months to complete the examination with a passing score of 80% or higher.

WHO: This program is offered to current SPAQI members who are actively practicing clinicians (APP and MD/DO level) - in perioperative medicine such as preoperative clinic. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or chief confirming  current or anticipated (for new hires) clinical practice in a preoperative clinical setting. Only active SPAQI members may participate at this time.

CE: CE will be offered. The exact number of credits (CME & ANCC) is still TBD.

COST: The cost for physicians is $950 and for non-physicans is $750.
