PERIOPERATIVE POINT-OF-CARE ULTRASOUND (POCUS)

With the growing recognition of the value of perioperative point of care ultrasound, SPAQI is excited to offer its POCUS bootcamp (or precourse, or whatever we’re calling it.) In this course we’ll be covering the basics of bedside cardiac, lung, and abdominal ultrasound with a focus on perioperative applications. With 12 hours of online content available for review prior to the course, we’ll spend our day together focused on hands-on practice on live models, with minimal lectures but some case reviews and plenty of time for discussion. Space is limited to 15 participants. An additional fee is required to attend this pre-course. |
BACK TO BASICS: COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF PREOPERATIVE EVALUATION

The Perioperative Medicine Summit is the premier meeting for learning the latest advances in perioperative medicine, hearing from international leaders in the field, and networking with other clinicians focused on the care of surgical patients. However, some attendees may be new to perioperative medicine or desire a refresher on the basics of the comprehensive preoperative evaluation. This pre-course focuses on all aspects of the comprehensive evaluation and will help clinicians new to perioperative medicine gain the knowledge and confidence necessary to perform preoperative evaluation on complex medical patients. For those with experience in perioperative medicine, the pre-course is also valuable as a refresher on all aspects of the preoperative evaluation and offers insights into evolving approaches to perioperative care. An additional fee is required to attend this pre-course.
POP 200: DEVELOPING AND GROWING A PERIOPERATIVE PROGRAM

The POP 200 precourse is an ½ day extension of our building a Perioperative Program 100 and 101 classes offered in previous years. If you are thinking of taking your existing perioperative program to the next level, this precourse is for you. In this four hour session we will discuss implementing quality metrics, treatment algorithms, expansion, transitions of care, and other issues. We will also have a session where our experienced faculty will be available to discuss your individual challenges and offer guidance.An additional fee is required to attend this pre-course.
