Abstract
Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is widely recognized as an essential tool for clinicians practicing in Anesthesia, the Emergency Room and on the Hospital Wards--so much so that ACGME now requires POCUS training as part of graduate training in these specialties. Should POCUS also be an essential skill utilized to aid our decision making in our preoperative clinical pathways? In a PRO-CON format, Anesthesiologists, Dr. Josh Zimmerman, POCUS expert, and Dr. Angela Selzer, POCUS wanna-be, debate the relative benefits and limitations of incorporating this clinical tool into the perioperative context.
