BACK TO BASICS: COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF PREOPERATIVE EVALUATION (Full Day)
8:00 AM-5:00 PM

The Perioperative Medicine Summit is the premier meeting for learning the latest advances in perioperative medicine, hearing from international leaders in the field, and networking with other clinicians focused on the care of surgical patients. However, some attendees may be new to perioperative medicine or desire a refresher on the basics of the comprehensive preoperative evaluation. This pre-course focuses on all aspects of the comprehensive evaluation and will help clinicians new to perioperative medicine gain the knowledge and confidence necessary to perform preoperative evaluation on complex medical patients. For those with experience in perioperative medicine, the pre-course is also valuable as a refresher on all aspects of the preoperative evaluation and offers insights into evolving approaches to perioperative care. Space is limited to 50 participants. An additional fee is required to attend this pre-course and this workshop can be added when registering for the Summit.

POP COURSES: BUILDING A PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE PROGRAM: A PRIMER FOR ACADEMIC AND COMMUNITY BASED PRACTICES (Full Day)
8:00 AM-5:00 PM

The course has been redesigned based on feedback from prior attendees. This year will be a full day course for all attendees from across the practice spectrum, with faculty drawn from established perioperative programs in the community and academic setting. The morning session will focus on the common fundamentals of designing and implementing a perioperative medicine program. The attendees will then split after lunch into two separate groups where we will discuss the unique challenges posed in the academic and community setting. The wrap up session at the end of the course will bring both groups back together to discuss and summarize the highlights of the day. Space is limited to 50 participants. An additional fee is required to attend this pre-course and this workshop can be added when registering for the Summit.
